About Us

The Mercy Tyler Health Foundation is a non-profit corporation that encourages both volunteer and philanthropic support from the community to benefit Mercy Tyler Hospital and Mercy Tyler Home Health Services. The Foundation raises and receives funds to support the Hospital in its mission of creating a healthy community by providing patient-focused healthcare, wellness and education services to Wyoming, Bradford, Susquehanna and Sullivan Counties.

Managed by an executive director, the Foundation is guided by a volunteer board of directors representing all segments of the community. The Foundation raises funds through: annual and hospital campaign initiatives; memorial and tribute contributions; planned giving; fundraising events; grant awards; and auxiliary donations.

Charitable contributions provide funds for state-of-the-art medical technology; vital emergency services; and educational programming. Financial support also allows for the enhancement and expansion of the Hospital’s facilities.

Tax-deductible donations ensure that the Hospital is prepared to meet urgent healthcare needs of the communities served – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Ways to Give

For almost 60 years, Mercy Tyler Hospital has provided the highest quality medical, surgical, emergency and diagnostic care to the community. With the support of board members, practicing physicians, businesses, employees, friends and neighbors, Mercy Tyler will continue to be prepared to meet healthcare needs at a location close to home.

Every gift makes a difference in the lives of our patients and their families … in the lives of our friends and neighbors.

There are many ways you can give to the Tyler Health Foundation.

  • Participate in the Foundation’s Annual Appeal campaign by making a monetary contribution in support of Mercy Tyler Hospital. As contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible, your gift has the potential of reducing your taxable income.

  • The Tyler Health Foundation accepts matching gifts from companies that partner with their employees to support charitable organizations through monetary contributions. When you make a gift to the Foundation, simply check with your company’s Human Resources department to determine if a matching gifts program is offered. If so, obtain the necessary form from your company, and send the completed form to the Tyler Health Foundation with your contribution. Some companies double – even triple! – employee gifts to the Foundation!

  • Honor a friend or loved one by making a meaningful memorial or honorary gift to the Foundation in their name. For a memorial gift, the Foundation will acknowledge your gift to the family. For an honorary gift, a letter will be sent recognizing your gift to the honoree. Memorial and honorary gifts will be recognized in the Mercy Tyler Hospital Annual Report.

  • Leave a legacy through a planned gift to the Foundation. Made through consultation with a professional advisor, planned giving is a gift (typically made from assets) that best serves a donor’s needs. The most common planned gift is a bequest to the Tyler Health Foundation in a will. Other planned gifts – life insurance, securities, charitable gift annuities, and remainder trusts, among others – can significantly benefit the Hospital while allowing tax benefits to the donor.

  • You can donate your time and share your talents by volunteering to help at various Foundation events. Terrific on the telephone? Become a part of the Annual Appeal Committee. A kitchen connoisseur? Participate in the Country Cupboard fundraiser at the annual Mercy Tyler Antique Show. The efforts of community members are valued!
